Hao Huang
Assistant Professor

Hao Huang is an Assistant Professor with CURENT and the Min H. Kao Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK). Before joining UTK, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Princeton University. He earned the B.S. degree in electrical engineering (power system and its automation) from Harbin Institute of Technology, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering (electric power) with honors from the University of Southern California, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a recipient of Thomas Powell Fellowship, and his work has been recognized with the 2023 Wiley Top Cited Article and Wiley Top Downloaded Article. His research focuses on power system resilience, cyber-physical security, hardware-in-the-loop testbed, and the application of artificial intelligence to smart grids. He is currently focused on enhancing the resilience of modern power systems, considering their cross-domain multilayered architectures with heterogenous networks and data.
