Don Reed

Business Manager

CURENT Business Manager, Don Reed, earned his BS in Accounting from UT in 1982, and started working for the UT Controller’s Office after graduation. He earned his MBA from UT in 1990, and became Director of the Research Centers Business Office (RCBO) in 1992. RCBO was a central business office for 5 interdisciplinary research
centers under the UT Research Office. In 2007, he became the Budget Director for the UT Joint Institute for Computational Sciences (JICS). Located at ORNL, it was the home of the $65,000,000 NSF award for Kraken, the first academic petaflop supercomputer, and 3rd fastest supercomputer in the world at the time. He has been with CURENT for a year.
