Andrew brings over 30 years of technical experience spanning satellite systems, bioinstrumentation, electronics design, and information technology to his role at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. A former U.S. Air Force satellite and telemetry technician, Andrew has built a career at the intersection of precision instrumentation and interdisciplinary problem-solving, applying both classic and novel design approaches to instrumentation used in research and teaching across the university. Andrew holds a degree in Plant Science and is an accomplished naturalist and gardener. Beyond instrumentation design and prototyping, Andrew is actively engaged in amateur radio and emergency communications, mentoring students at the UTK Ham Radio Club, and helping train the next generation of technicians and researchers.
