On August 5, 2026, the CURENT research center welcomed a delegation of 12 visitors from Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) and its affiliates, led by Dr. Chih-Sheng Chang, Deputy General Manager of Taipower’s Research Institute.
Dr. Fran Li, Director of CURENT, welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the center’s mission, research, and educational activities. Drs. Leon Tolbert and Hao Huang, together with their graduate students, presented their recent research on hardware testbeds and power grid cybersecurity. In turn, the visitors delivered four presentations on synchrophasor measurement, microgrids, and artificial intelligence applications in power systems.
The meeting also featured productive discussions on opportunities for future collaboration. The visit concluded with a tour of CURENT’s state-of-the-art laboratories.
