CURENT Social Student Committee Hosts Fall Semester Meet-and-Greet
The CURENT Social Student Committee hosted a Meet-and-Greet on Thursday, September
17 in the Commons on the 6th floor of the Min Kao Building. Pizza and soft drinks were
served while students gathered in small groups to share experiences about their time at
UTK and get to know one another.
Throughout the evening, music from the various home countries represented within the
CURENT community was played. A few remarks were shared to formally welcome the new
CURENT students and encourage them to continue participating in future community
activities. During the discussions, several ideas emerged for organizing informal social
gatherings monthly to help strengthen connections across the CURENT community.
The event was attended by more than 20 students, with all the pizza and soft drinks being
consumed. The gathering concluded around 7:30 PM with a fun balloon-drop race, where
balloons were released from the sixth floor. Overall, the event provided an excellent
opportunity for new and returning members of CURENT to connect, build relationships,
and foster a stronger sense of community.
