Dr. Alvarez-Malebrán visited the University of Tennessee on March 5, 2025. He presented to CURENT faculty and students on the subjects of PUM measurement applications, power system planning, and quantum computing. CURENT faculty met with Dr. Alvarez to discuss future collaborative opportunities.
Dr. Alvarez is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria in Santiago, Chile. His main research interests are power system planning, operation, and optimization, large-scale integration of renewable energies, and the use of artificial intelligence in power system applications.
