The faculty, staff, and students of the center's lead institute are located in the Min H. Kao Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Building on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus.

CURENT's main office is in Suite 555 of the Min Kao Building.

Parking Information

For Visitors to the Min Kao Building:

Because most of the parking areas on the UTK campus require parking permits, please plan ahead.

For guests of the center, we have 1 parking space in Staff Lot 7 across the creek from our building
(near the corner of Estabrook and Cumberland Avenue). The public parking garage at Volunteer Hall is also an option, just be sure to bring your ticket with you so that we can validate it before you leave. After parking your car, please refer to the maps below.

NOTE: You will need to make prior arrangements with someone in the center to use the parking spots in Lot 7.

Directions from I-40 W / I-75 S

• Head east on I-40 E.
• Take Exit 388 for US-441 S / Henley St. toward Downtown.
• Keep left at the fork and merge onto US-441 S / Henley St.
• Turn right onto Cumberland Avenue.
• Turn left into Staff Lot 7 immediately after you pass under the double bridge.

Directions from I-40 E

• Head west on I-40 W.
• Take Exit 389 for Hall of Fame Drive toward U.S. 441 N / Broadway
• Take Exit 388A on the left for Tennessee 158 W / James White Parkway toward U.S. 441 S / Downtown
• Merge onto James White Parkway
• Take the exit toward US-441 S / Downtown onto Cumberland Ave.
• Turn left into Staff Lot 7 immediately after you pass under the double bridge.

Directions from I-75 N

• Continue south onto I-275 S
• Keep right at the fork, follow signs and merge onto US-441 S / Henley St.
• Turn right onto Cumberland Avenue.
• Turn left into Staff Lot 7 immediately after you pass under the double bridge.

Walking from Staff Lot 7

• Upon parking your vehicle, you will see the Min Kao Building directly in front of you, across from a creek.
• Follow the right-hand sidewalk until it crosses Estabrook Rd.
• Cross Estabrook Rd. and enter the building in the glass double doors.
• Take the elevators on your right to the 5th floor.

Please note: Staff Lot 7 is found inside the red circle. The parking spots reserved for CURENT guests are found at the gold star. Follow the sidewalk (red arrow) to the Min Kao Building (inside green circle).
