CURENT Student Places Second in IEEE PES Poster Contest

Maryam Variani was recently awarded Second Prize from this year's Student Poster Contest at the 2012 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting. Variani, who is an Electrical Engineering Ph.D. candidate at the University of Tennessee in CURENT's Engineering Research Center, was selected over nearly 200 other presenters. Her poster was titled "Flatness-Based Automatic Generation Control with High Penetration of Wind Energy."
